 | Sunday, June 1st, 2008: Santos Chosen May's Best SL2 Hurler
Victor Santos's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 5-0 in May, the 31-year-old Laredo hurler has been named Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Month.
He fanned 39 in 45.1 innings, logged an ERA of 0.60 and allowed opponents to hit .164 against him.
So far this year Santos has compiled a 7-1 record with a 1.90 ERA. |

"The kid had it all working last month," a veteran teammate told reporters. "He keeps up those kind of numbers, we may have to start inviting him out with us after the games."
Brent Martin put together a very solid month to take home the Sub League 1's top pitching honor in May.
The 20-year-old reliever threw with confidence some veteran's lack. In 14 relief appearances he raked in 8 saves and 11 strikeouts in 17.2 innings as he put together his 3-0 record and 1.53 ERA.
For the year Martin has earned 13 saves, made 22 relief appearances, fanned 17 hitters in 27.2 innings and posted an ERA of 1.30 and a 4-1 record. |
