| Breaking News |  | Saturday, July 1st, 2006: Shipwrecks Hurler Named SL1's #1 Starter
In June Greensboro starter, Alay Soler really put the strong arm on the other Sub League 1 teams and hauled in the Pitcher of the Month trophy. He did it with an impressive 4 wins and 1 loss.
In 6 starts and 39 innings of work, Soler limited opposing batters to 25 base hits and a .182 batting average. He fanned 31, issued 6 walks and had a 2.31 ERA.
This year Soler has compiled a 8-4 record with a 2.92 ERA in 13 starts.

| Monday, June 5th, 2006: SL1 Presents Player of the Week Trophy
It was announced today that Greensboro catcher Paul Bako was selected the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award for his superb play last week.
During the week he compiled a .400 batting average (8-20) with no home runs, 4 runs batted in and scored 3 runs.
Bako has a .267 average and a .342 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 54 hits, 2 home runs and driven in 21 runs.

| Thursday, June 1st, 2006: SL1's #1 Starter is Soler
Over the past month Alay Soler has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Sub League 1. He proved all that and now he's been named May's Pitcher of the Month.
The rookie for the Greensboro Shipwrecks posted 4-3 mark and a 3.42 ERA. In 7 starts he tossed 47.1 innings, permitted 39 hits and fanned 40 batters.
This year Soler has gone 4-3 with an ERA of 3.42 and has 40 strikeouts in 47.1 innings.
