| Breaking News | | Friday, June 1st, 2007: Fogg Chosen May's Best SL1 Hurler
Veteran Josh Fogg put together quite a successful stretch in May for the Scottsdale Sapphires, earning himself the Sub League 1 Pitcher of the Month award.
Fogg racked up a 4-1 record in 6 starts, posting a 1.84 ERA over 44 innings and striking out 31.
This season Fogg has compiled a 6-2 mark with a 2.00 ERA in 10 starts. |
| Friday, June 1st, 2007: SL1 Best Hitter Trophy Goes to Shealy
Ryan Shealy put together a good May to earn the Sub League 1 Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Scottsdale officials that he belongs on the big league roster.
The Sapphires first baseman posted a .356 batting average with 1 home run, 15 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
Shealy has collected 47 hits for the Sapphires this year, 1 of them home runs. He has also netted 22 RBIs and scored 20 runs while batting .313. |
| Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007: Scottsdale's Fogg Shines, Shuts out Carlinville
In a very impressive mound performance, Josh Fogg stopped the Carlinville Heaters cold. The 30-year-old Sapphires hurler blanked them on 3 hits to post a 5-0 triumph.
So far in 2007 Fogg has compiled a 6-1 record with a 1.79 ERA. |
