In the month of April Ricardo Martínez thumped the ball with authority, earning Sub League 1 Batter of the Month honors in the process.
Lubbock's shortstop hit .378 with 1 home run, 23 RBIs and scored 18 runs.

| Monday, April 23rd, 2007: SL1's Star Player Named
It was a week to remember for Joel Guzman. After wrapping up a torrid week at the plate, the Lubbock Speedsters third baseman was named the Sub League 1 Player of the Week.
Guzman collected 11 hits in 26 at-bats for a .423 average. He also accounted for 8 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 7 runs.
This year Guzman is batting .313 with 2 home runs.

 | Monday, April 9th, 2007: Unknown, Unknown Suspended for Fracas
Baseball officials have suspended two players for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct" in yesterday's Lubbock-Staten Island contest at Speedsters Ballpark. The Speedsters Joe Unknown and the Mud Cats Joe Unknown will have to sit out 5 games for their part in the brawl.
