Monona's Danny Graves has mixed feelings about a possible trade. The 33-year-old closer, when reached for comment on recent trade rumors, replied, "I've made some good friends here. I'm not sure I'm ready to leave."

The Copper Kings tried, but could not solve Elmwood Park's Kyle Snyder, falling to the Palisades 1-0. Monona managed only 4 hits off Snyder, who kept opposing hitters guessing all day. In a strong route-going performance he had 9 strikeouts and walked 0.
In 2006 Snyder has a 10-5 record with a 2.68 ERA.

| Monday, June 19th, 2006: Great Week for Monona's Second Baseman
Few players his age are still in the league, but Lou Merloni of the Monona Copper Kings clearly loves the game and clearly he can still get the job done. Last week the 35-year-old second baseman hit the ball with the consistency of someone ten years younger, which made Merloni a popular and well-deserved selection as Sub League 2 Player of the Week.
He paced the Copper Kings attack by putting up a .391 batting average, 9 hits in 23 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 1 home run. Merloni also scored 5 runs.
Thus far in 2006 Merloni is batting .221 with 3 home runs, 27 RBIs and 25 runs scored.
