| Breaking News | | Friday, June 1st, 2007: SL2 Selects Bootcheck May's Best Pitcher
Chris Bootcheck is at the zenith of his career and today he was selected as the Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Month for May.
He made 12 relief appearances for Laredo last month, throwing 11.1 innings and collecting 11 saves, a 1-0 record, 10 strikeouts and a 0.79 ERA.
This season Bootcheck has made 21 relief appearances, saving 16. His record is 2-0 with 20 strikeouts in 20.1 innings and a 0.89 ERA. |
 | Wednesday, May 30th, 2007: Unknown Sidelined for 10-11 Months
After injuring himself, Flames reliever Joe Unknown headed straight to the hospital. He was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch and the team's worst fears were confirmed when it turned out to be a little more serious. Unknown will miss at least 10-11 months with a torn rotator cuff muscle.

What a week it was for Terrmel Sledge! The Laredo left fielder took Sub League 2 Player of the Week honors after wearing out the pitchers with a .458 batting average in his recent games.
Sledge registered 11 hits in 24 at-bats as he cracked 1 home run and drove in 4 runs.
This season-to-date Sledge has 1 home run and a .280 batting average.
