The Sub League 2 has chosen Joe McEwing of the Wichita Dinosaurs as Player of the Week.
What a week McEwing had. He hit .542 (13-24) with no home runs, 2 RBIs and 7 runs scored.

 | Tuesday, July 11th, 2006: Huckaby 5-5 Against Ions
Ken Huckaby really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Wichita Grounds, the Wichita catcher blistered the Roland Ions for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 13-4 victory.
"Huckaby was too tough to get out today," the Ions skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
K. Huckaby hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 7th.
For the season, Huckaby is hitting at a .275 clip with 7 home runs, 35 RBIs and has scored 44 runs. He has 87 hits, 32 walks and a .340 on-base percentage.

| Tuesday, July 11th, 2006: Unknown's Season Could be Over
Wichita third baseman Joe Unknown could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn posterior cruciate ligament. He exited yesterday's Roland game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Unknown would be out 12 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
