| Breaking News |  | Monday, May 28th, 2007: Hit Streak Now at 25 for Rabe
The Snipes proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Copperheads 7-6, but Josh Rabe continued his god-like hitting as he collected 2 hits and ran his hitting streak to 25 games.
When asked about his torrid-hitting left fielder, the Birmingham skipper said, "Rabe is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Rabe was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters."
J. Rabe grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th.
Looking at his 2007 season stats, Rabe has compiled a .327 batting average in 52 games with a .422 on-base percentage, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 30 runs. |
 | Monday, April 16th, 2007: Nieves Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games
Wil Nieves extended his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games today in the Salunga-Landisville 6-5 triumph over the Anchorage Copperheads. The 29-year-old Resolutes catcher collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats.
W. Nieves hit a three-run home run off C. Durbin in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
In 2007 Nieves has hit at a .355 clip with 11 hits, 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and has scored 6 times.

Anchorage's Wilfredo Ledezma is only 25, but last week he put up numbers that would make a seasoned veteran proud. That's why the young hurler earned the Sub League 2 Player of the Week award.
Ledezma tallied 2 wins, 13 strikeouts in 16 innings and a 0.00 ERA for the week.
Ledezma has made 5 starts so far this year and put up a 3-1 won-lost record with a 0.77 ERA. In 35 innings he has allowed 23 hits, walked 14 and struck out 24.
