Saturday, May 31st, 2008: Harang, Reds Sign 4-Year Deal
Sources familiar with dealings between Aaron Harang and Cincinnati report that the two sides have pushed aside their differences and worked out an extension.

The 30-year-old agreed to a $51,440,000 deal that will have him playing at Great American Ball Park for the next 4 years.

In season stats Harang shows a 4-5 record in 11 games, 71 innings, 53 strikeouts and a 4.31 ERA.
Monday, May 5th, 2008: Dave Ross Rockets 3 Home Runs
After his record-making performance Dave Ross of the Cincinnati Reds told the press, "Everything was clicking. My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them. But it wasn't good enough to win the game." He slammed three homers, yet Cincinnati dropped the game to the Colorado Rockies 10-9.

"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," the Reds manager said. "It takes more than one guy to win a game."

In a losing cause Ross shined brilliantly with 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

D. Ross hit a solo-shot off U. Jimenez in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off T. Martin in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off M. DeJean in the 8th.

To date, Ross has collected 24 hits for a .276 average. He has posted 5 home runs, scored 13 runs and driven in 16 runs.
Monday, May 5th, 2008: Konerko and Fuentes Brawl, League Suspends Them
Bad blood could be brewing between the Reds and the Rockies. In yesterday's contest at Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati's Paul Konerko and Colorado's Brian Fuentes caused the benches to empty when they went toe-to-toe against one another. Only Konerko and Fuentes were ejected by the umpires.

Upon hearing that the two players had been suspended 4 games each by the league office, harsh comments came from both clubhouses.

League officials have warned both organizations about the consequences of premeditated retaliation.

This year Konerko is hitting .233 with 4 home runs.

To date in the 2008 season, Fuentes has saved 1 games while tossing 12 innings. He has a 3.75 ERA, fanned 13 batters and made 11 relief appearances.
