Sunday, May 11th, 2008: Washington Loses Giles, Will Miss Season
A blow for Brian Giles today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 7 months with a torn thigh muscle. Giles suffered the injury running the bases. Although officials from the Washington Nationals are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Giles's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.

Giles is presently hitting at a .219 pace with no home runs, 11 RBIs and has scored 10 times.
Saturday, May 10th, 2008: Injury Sidelines Ryan Zimmerman for Season
Ryan Zimmerman and the Washington Nationals got a bad break in today's game against the Mets as the team confirmed he will miss 8 months with a fractured foot. The Nationals third baseman suffered the injury running the bases. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.

This season Zimmerman has hit at a .271 clip with 17 RBIs, 1 home runs and 17 runs scored. He has played in 31 games.
Thursday, May 8th, 2008: Bad News for Washington, Wilson Hurt
The Washington Nationals got some bad news when the team learned that Jack Wilson was likely to be out for 4 weeks after he injured himself running the bases in today's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a hyperextended knee. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Washington manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Jack is back in action."

So far in 2008, Wilson is batting .302 with no home runs and 9 RBIs.
