Breaking News |  | Monday, May 28th, 2007: Sub League 1 Names Top Player The #1 hitter in the Sub League 1 was Riverside left fielder Geoff McClain. He was selected the Player of the Week.
During the week McClain banged out a .545 batting average (12-22), 2 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 7 runs.
This season McClain is swinging the bat at a .337 rate with 67 hits in 199 at-bats. To date he has hit 7 home runs, scored 28 runs and driven in 26. |  | Sunday, August 6th, 2006: Abad Goes 5-5 What a day for Andy Abad of the Riverside Greenfish! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped West Glendive pitching apart at Riverside Grounds and sparked the Greenfish to a 12-2 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Abad told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
A. Abad hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
