| Breaking News | | Wednesday, May 30th, 2007: Hit Parade: Torrez Pops 5 Hits
What a day for Ángelo Torrez of the West Glendive Bluefins! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Grandview pitching apart at Bluefins Ballpark and sparked the Bluefins to a 7-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Torrez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Á. Torrez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
So far this season Torrez has no home runs and a .249 batting average. |
 | Saturday, April 28th, 2007: Sorensen Twirls Shutout
It was a razor-sharp performance by Jerry Sorensen of the Southglenn Nails against the West Glendive Bluefins. He fashioned a fine 4-hitter in blanking them 5-0 and chalked up 1 strikeout and 2 walks.
So far this season, Sorensen has logged a 4-1 record with a 4.00 ERA. He has started 6 games, hurled 36 innings and registered 6 strikeouts and 12 walks.

 | Monday, April 16th, 2007: Season May Be Over for Bluefins Unknown
Doctors in West Glendive said Joe Unknown may not play anymore this year. The Bluefins starting pitcher received a ruptured disc during a game against the Riverside Greenfish and will be out for at least 11-12 months. Club officials told BNN they did not expect him to return to the team this season.
