| Breaking News | | Friday, June 1st, 2007: Garza Captures SL1 Batter of Month Award
Even though he is a newcomer to ML Single A, Raśl Garza put up some good numbers in May and brought home the SL1 Batter of the Month trophy.
He was one of Orlando's offensive leaders with a .375 average in 27 games. He also racked up 3 home runs, 22 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
In 2007 Garza is batting .319 with 4 home runs. |
 | Sunday, May 6th, 2007: 25-Game Streak Ends, Jimerson Hitless
After 25 games, Charlton Jimerson saw his hitting streak end when he went hitless in 4 at-bats. However, the Chaos won, which took some of the sting out of it. Chula Vista topped the Orlando Flying Dutchmen 4-3 at Ballpark of Chula Vista.
"It was a good run," the right fielder said after the game. "It was bound to end at some point. I'm just glad we won the day it ended."
Jimerson is batting .372 this year with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 129 at-bats. |
 | Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007: Railcats Carver Blanks Flying Dutchmen
The Lake Monticello Railcats breezed to victory today behind the shutout pitching of Randall Carver. He surrendered no runs, gave up 4 hits and finished the game with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. The Railcats won the game 4-0.
To date in 2007, Carver has registered 7 starts, 2-3 won-lost mark, 2.21 ERA, 53 IP, 31 strikeouts and 11 walks. Opposing teams have hit .229 against him.
