| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, May 30th, 2007: Hit Parade: Torrez Pops 5 Hits
What a day for Ángelo Torrez of the West Glendive Bluefins! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Grandview pitching apart at Bluefins Ballpark and sparked the Bluefins to a 7-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Torrez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Á. Torrez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
So far this season Torrez has no home runs and a .249 batting average. |

Iván Martínez of the Grandview Cannons fashioned a fine 2-0 victory over the Martindale Gnomes. He held them to 3 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in a strong outing.

"Sometimes I was smart... and sometimes just a little lucky." That's how Graham Gibson of the Southglenn Nails described his shutout victory over the Grandview Cannons. Gibson blanked them 3-0 on 5 hits while striking out 1 and walking 0.
