Friday, May 23rd, 2008: 2B Robinson Cano Hurt
New York fans will be disappointed to learn that Robinson Cano developed a dislocated finger while colliding with a player at a base in today's game. After the doctor informed the New York Yankees manager that Cano was expected to miss one week, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the second baseman could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

This year Cano is hitting .370, produced 44 RBIs and 11 home runs, scored 34 times and gotten on base at a .413 rate.

To date this season Mussina is 4-2 with 9 starts and an ERA of 3.09 with 22 strikeouts in 55.1 innings.
