Breaking News | | Friday, May 18th, 2007: Restovich's Season Could be Over The season is finished for Michael Restovich of the Lake Monticello Railcats. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Railcats left fielder suffered a fractured skull while being hit by a pitch in a recent game against the West Glendive Bluefins. Team doctors said it would take at least 8 months to heal.
So far this season Restovich has hit .279 with no home runs, 12 RBIs and and scored 10 times. | | Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007: Railcats Carver Blanks Flying Dutchmen The Lake Monticello Railcats breezed to victory today behind the shutout pitching of Randall Carver. He surrendered no runs, gave up 4 hits and finished the game with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. The Railcats won the game 4-0.
To date in 2007, Carver has registered 7 starts, 2-3 won-lost mark, 2.21 ERA, 53 IP, 31 strikeouts and 11 walks. Opposing teams have hit .229 against him. | | Tuesday, April 24th, 2007: Huber Gets 5 Hits If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. At Ballpark of Lake Monticello Justin Huber showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Fiskdale Pigeons. However this great day with the bat didn't pay off in a victory. The Lake Monticello Railcats fell 14-7.
The manager of the Pigeons told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames. Luckily we came away with a win today. Huber just didn't get enough help."
If Huber keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
J. Huber singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far in 2007 Huber is hitting .326 with no home runs, 8 RBIs, 13 runs scored and has compiled a .404 OBP. | | | Team Information | Record overall | 19-38, .333 PCT | Position in Division | 5th, 20.0 GB | Record at home | 12-15, .444 PCT | Record on the road | 7-23, .233 PCT | Record in X-inning games | 3-3, .500 PCT | Record in one-run games | 4-12, .250 PCT | Record versus LHP | 4-4, .500 PCT | Record versus RHP | 15-34, .306 PCT | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | Record in April | 7-21, .250 PCT | Record in May | 12-17, .414 PCT |
