| Breaking News | | Friday, June 1st, 2007: Sub League 2 Announces May's Best Batter
Chris Duffy capped off a fine May by being named the Sub League 2 Batter of the Month today.
Garland's center fielder hit .375 while collecting 3 home runs, 24 RBIs and scoring 18 runs. He also drew 12 walks to post an OBP of .437.
So far this year Duffy has 4 home runs and a .335 batting average. |
| Sunday, May 27th, 2007: Super Swinger -- Duffy Slams 5 Hits
Chris Duffy really sizzled at the plate in today's 5-4 win over Madhouse. The Garland center fielder blistered Glendale for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Duffy was too tough to get out today," the Madhouse skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
C. Duffy hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 1st, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
In the current season, Duffy has put up a .341 batting average with 70 hits, 4 home runs, 38 RBI and scored 38 runs. |
| Monday, May 21st, 2007: Duffy Sticks it to SL2 Pitchers
Chris Duffy is respected by most Garland Dreadnoughts fans for his no-frills style of play. The 27-year-old center fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Sub League 2 Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .400 average (12-30) with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
Duffy on the season is batting .319 with 3 home runs. His totals include 34 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has played in 45 games. |
