| Breaking News |  | Monday, April 16th, 2007: Unknown out for 8 Months
The Omaha Woodcutters will lose the services of second baseman Joe Unknown after he sustained a fractured ankle while running the bases in today's game against the Raleigh Mutiny. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Unknown said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 8 months.

It is unknown at this time if there is any truth to the rumor that Omaha's Ryan Franklin has asked his team for a trade. Insiders indicate the starting pitcher may not be happy with the club management. So far, the team's owners have refused to comment.

| Saturday, August 19th, 2006: Great Day for Pena -- 5 Hits
Tony Pena was on fire today and sparked his club to a 12-8 victory over the Woodcutters. The Fort Wayne shortstop was a tough out and went 5 for 6 against Omaha in a fine hitting display.
"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody... and some days they fall in."
T. Pena grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This year Pena has hit at a .287 clip with 32 RBIs, 1 home run and 55 runs scored.
