Breaking News |  | Saturday, August 19th, 2006: Great Day for Pena -- 5 Hits Tony Pena was on fire today and sparked his club to a 12-8 victory over the Woodcutters. The Fort Wayne shortstop was a tough out and went 5 for 6 against Omaha in a fine hitting display.
"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody... and some days they fall in."
T. Pena grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This year Pena has hit at a .287 clip with 32 RBIs, 1 home run and 55 runs scored. |  | Saturday, August 19th, 2006: Braves Prado Hurt Martin Prado has to call it a season. The Fort Wayne Braves second baseman sustained a season-ending injury against the Omaha Woodcutters and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Prado was injured while colliding with a player at a base. His doctors diagnosed it as fractured ribs and stated that he would not be able to play for 4 weeks.
Currently Prado is hitting .270 and has collected 16 home runs, 55 RBIs and scored 52 times, while playing in 125 games. |  | Friday, August 18th, 2006: Career Over for Joey Devine Fort Wayne's general manager announced that 22-year-old Joey Devine suffered a severe injury this afternoon against the Omaha Woodcutters, and the reliever's baseball career is over. Devine was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff muscle.
