Sunday, May 27th, 2007: Super Swinger -- Duffy Slams 5 Hits
Chris Duffy really sizzled at the plate in today's 5-4 win over Madhouse. The Garland center fielder blistered Glendale for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

"Duffy was too tough to get out today," the Madhouse skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."

C. Duffy hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 1st, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.

In the current season, Duffy has put up a .341 batting average with 70 hits, 4 home runs, 38 RBI and scored 38 runs.
Tuesday, April 17th, 2007: Hammel Takes Charge, Blanks Buffalo
Jason Hammel of the Glendale Madhouse shut out the Buffalo Spirits 5-0, stopped them on 4 hits and had 11 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.

After the game his manager said, "He just came out and was on the attack from the first pitch he threw. When Jason stays ahead in the count, he does well. That's the key."

Sunday, April 1st, 2007: Waechter Sparkles, Blanks Corpus Christi
Doug Waechter effectively shut down the Carpenters today, blanking them 3-0 on 3 hits, ringing up 5 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. The Madhouse pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.

"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Waechter said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."

The Carpenters skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."
