The Corpus Christi Carpenters got some bad news when the team learned that Joe Unknown was likely to be out for 7-8 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the East Prairie Dogfish. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a torn back muscle. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Corpus Christi manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Joe is back in action."

| Tuesday, May 8th, 2007: Players Suspended in Trappers-Carpenters Donnybrook
The action was hot and heavy at a recent Tulsa-Corpus Christi game at Ballpark of Tulsa in more ways than one. When tempers flared, both benches emptied and a mild melee ensued. The only thing hurt was a few players' pride. Two of the main figures in the brawl were suspended today by league officials. The Trappers Joe Unknown and Corpus Christi's Joe Unknown will each miss 3 games for their roles in the fight.
"We do not condone this kind of behavior on the field," the league announcement read. "As such, we feel that this punishment fits the actions taken by these two players. We hope that there will not be a repeat of the incident or else the consequences will be even more severe."

| Tuesday, May 1st, 2007: League Gets Last Word, Suspends Unknown 6 Games
Corpus Christi right fielder Joe Unknown was ejected in the game between the Carpenters and Thunder for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. Unknown was incensed in the 0-0 loss to Minneapolis and was just as angry after the game.
"These guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" Unknown said in the locker room after the game.
Now Unknown must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that Unknown has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Due to his actions during and after the game, the league is suspending him for 6 games."
