Sunday, May 11th, 2008: Oswalt Whitewashes Giants
Roy Oswalt of the Houston Astros was on top of his game today. He tantalized the San Francisco Giants with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 6-0 shutout.

In the postgame comments, the San Francisco skipper said, "He had the changeup working. You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Houston hurler had 4 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 4 hits in his complete-game effort.

Oswalt told reporters after the game, "To be successful in this league, you have to keep the ball down. If you don't, they'll make you pay."

This season to date, Oswalt has fashioned a 5-2 mark and 3.38 ERA in 53.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .246 against him and he has logged 33 strikeouts.
Thursday, May 1st, 2008: Giants Cain Named NL's Best Pitcher
Matt Cain has made fans throughout Major League 2006 take notice over the past month with an exceptional 4-1 record. No pitcher in the National threw better in April, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today.

In 5 starts Cain compiled a 2.12 ERA, putting up a 4-1 record, striking out 30 and tossing 34 innings.

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008: Pagan Injured, out of Lineup
After the end of today's game between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Angel Pagan skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after making a defensive play, the Giants had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The center fielder will miss at least 2-3 weeks with a fractured hand.

So far this year Pagan has hit .250 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
