| Breaking News | | Friday, June 1st, 2007: Fruto Named Top SL2 Hurler
Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Emiliano Fruto, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The East Prairie Dogfish reliever, 22, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .247 average and walked away with the Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Month award for May.
Fruto posted a 4-0 mark and a 0.77 ERA in 10 relief appearances. In 23.1 innings, he stacked up no saves, 27 strikeouts and 8 walks.
He has made 19 relief appearances this year with 1 saves. Fruto has achieved a 5-1 record while holding opposing hitters to a .186 batting average and posting a 0.67 ERA. He has tossed 40.1 innings, given up 26 base hits, fanned 48 and issued 14 walks. |

Joe Unknown of the Buffalo Spirits and Joe Unknown of the East Prairie Dogfish received notification from the league commissioner's office that they had been suspended for 3 games for their part in the on-field ruckus in a recent game at Buffalo Fields.
