| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, May 28th, 2008: Bartlett and Green Suspended, Out 10 Games
Baseball officials have notified the Twins and Mariners organizations that one of their players has been suspended for "inappropriate and aggressive behavior" in yesterday's Minnesota-Seattle contest at Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome. Jason Bartlett of the Twins and Sean Green of the Mariners will have to sit out 10 games for their roles in the free-for-all brawl.
Bartlett is batting .249 this year with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 193 at-bats.
So far this year Green has been credited with no saves, registered a 5.63 ERA and struck out 2 in 8 innings. He also has a 0-1 record. |
| Wednesday, May 28th, 2008: Livingston Injured, out of Lineup
The Seattle Mariners got some bad news when the team learned that Bobby Livingston was likely to be out for 1-2 weeks after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Minnesota Twins. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a damaged meniscus. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Seattle manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Bobby is back in action."
So far this season Livingston has 2 wins and 5 losses and a 4.01 ERA. |
| Friday, May 23rd, 2008: O'Flaherty Hurt, out 1-2 Weeks
The Seattle Mariners got some bad news when the team learned that Eric O'Flaherty was likely to be out for 1-2 weeks after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Chicago Cubs. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be back spasms. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Seattle manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Eric is back in action."
To date, O'Flaherty has collected no saves in 16 relief appearances. He has rung up 23 strikeouts and 8 walks in 32.2 innings while registering a 1.38 ERA and a 2-0 won-lost record. |
