Breaking News |  | Saturday, May 31st, 2008: Los Angeles Angels of CL Injured Joe Nathan of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim could be headed for the disabled list after suffering a strained back muscle in a game against the Seattle Mariners. He is expected to miss at least 1-2 weeks. The Los Angeles Angels of closer was injured throwing a pitch.
This season Nathan has 11 saves. In 21 relief appearances he has tossed 20.2 innings, struck out 22 and issued 7 walks with a 1-4 record. The Los Angeles Angels of reliever has recorded a 4.35 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .256 when he is in the game. |  | Monday, May 26th, 2008: Injury Takes Toll, Lyon Out The Anaheim received bad news this morning. Brandon Lyon will miss 12-13 months due to a ruptured bicep tendon. In the Los Angeles Angels of-Texas game he sustained the injury while throwing a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Lyon sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."
Lyon's record up to now is 0-and-1 with no saves and a 3.86 ERA. He has given up 11 hits in 9.1 innings with 6 strikeouts. |  | Sunday, May 18th, 2008: Bloomquist Keeps Hit Streak Alive The Baltimore Orioles stopped the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim today 3-0 and Willie Bloomquist was able to hit safely again. The Baltimore second baseman got 1 hit and ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20.
Bloomquist was excited after the victory and told the press, "I want to get a hit every time up. I want to get a hit every game I play. I want to win every game for the greatest fans in the world, Orioles fans!" W. Bloomquist flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.
Looking at his stats this year, Bloomquist has compiled a .296 batting average, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 9 runs.
