Sunday, May 13th, 2007: Burns Cruises to Shutout
In an excellent mound performance, Colt Burns of the West Warwick Zebras whitewashed the MacComb Knighthawks 9-0 on a 4-hitter.

He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."

The MacComb manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Burns did a good job keeping us guessing."

In all, the West Warwick hurler rang up 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout win.

Burns has a 4-3 season record so far. In 9 starts, he has fanned 29 batters in 65.1 innings with a 3.31 ERA.

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007: Gómez Blanks Blue Hens
Everything clicked on the hill today for Tony Gómez of the MacComb Knighthawks as he hurled his club to a 6-0 shutout win over the Mexico Blue Hens, limiting them to 4 hits while recording 5 strikeouts and yielding 2 walks. He overpowered some batters with his fastball and buckled knees with his sharp breaking pitches.

"We had our shot at him a couple of different times," the Blue Hens manager said, "but we weren't able to get to him."

This season Gómez has compiled a 1-2 record with a 2.70 ERA in 5 starts.

Sunday, April 8th, 2007: MacComb Loses Unknown for Year
MacComb catcher Joe Unknown could miss the remainder of the season because of a ruptured achilles tendon. He exited yesterday's Manhattan game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Unknown would be out 11 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.

"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
