Breaking News |  | Sunday, May 13th, 2007: Burns Cruises to Shutout In an excellent mound performance, Colt Burns of the West Warwick Zebras whitewashed the MacComb Knighthawks 9-0 on a 4-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The MacComb manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Burns did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the West Warwick hurler rang up 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout win.
Burns has a 4-3 season record so far. In 9 starts, he has fanned 29 batters in 65.1 innings with a 3.31 ERA. |  | Monday, September 18th, 2006: Zebras Star Wins 2006 Outstanding Pitcher Award He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Zach Jackson performed like a veteran on the hill for the West Warwick Zebras and walked away with the Sub League 2 Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process.
The 23-year-old Zebras star fashioned a 12-7 won-loss record in 2006 with a 3.10 ERA. In 180 innings of work and 25 starts, Jackson struck out 36 while giving up 162 hits and 36 walks. He held opposing batters to a .240 average. |  | Tuesday, August 1st, 2006: Zebras Jackson Tames Manhattan Zach Jackson pitched a strong game in blanking the Manhattan Huskies 2-0, allowed no runs on 4 hits, totaled 1 strikeout and gave up no walks.
The West Warwick manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Jackson. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
In 24 starts this season, Jackson has picked up 11 wins while suffering 7 losses.
