Breaking News |  | Sunday, May 6th, 2007: Thurston Goes 5-6 Against Manhattan At Steinbach Grounds Joe Thurston was the King of Swing today in the 13-1 win over the Huskies. The Steinbach left fielder stepped into the batter's box 6 times against the Manhattan and delivered 5 hits.
It was a sensational game for him. He told the press, "Unbelievable feeling. It felt good. 5 for 6! It does wonders for your batting average, too."
J. Thurston singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 9th.
Presently Thurston is batting .384 with 38 hits and 2 home runs. |  | Tuesday, August 1st, 2006: Zebras Jackson Tames Manhattan Zach Jackson pitched a strong game in blanking the Manhattan Huskies 2-0, allowed no runs on 4 hits, totaled 1 strikeout and gave up no walks.
The West Warwick manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Jackson. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
In 24 starts this season, Jackson has picked up 11 wins while suffering 7 losses.
