| Breaking News |  | Monday, May 21st, 2007: Paradise Center Fielder Week's Best in SL2
According to the voters, Rod Spence of the Paradise Green Sox had the best week of all Sub League 2 hitters as he was named this week's Player of the Week.
The center fielder's accomplishments include 15 hits in 28 at-bats, a .536 batting average, no home runs, 10 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
Currently Spence is batting .374 with no home runs and 38 RBIs. |
| Saturday, May 19th, 2007: Green Sox Nicholson to Miss Year
"I'm frustrated right now," said Paradise center fielder Eric Nicholson. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Green Sox, that's where he will be spending the next 7-8 months. Nicholson suffered a fractured elbow in today's game against MacComb while throwing the ball. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."
Currently Nicholson has 1 home run and a .280 batting average. |
| Tuesday, May 1st, 2007: Green Sox Hurler Named April's #1 Starter
When the Green Sox skipper wrote Roberts on the lineup card, it was a bad omen for the opposition. Outing after outing in April he took command and usually got the win.
He dominated with a 4-0 mark and 1.53 ERA in 6 starts. The gifted Green Sox star pitched 47 innings, fanned 35 and held opposing teams to a .187 average.
For his excellent mound work Roberts was named the SL2 Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers.
