| Breaking News |  | Thursday, August 3rd, 2006: Unknown Will Miss 7 Months
The Summit Wrath will lose the services of starting pitcher Joe Unknown after he sustained a torn bicep muscle while throwing a pitch in today's game against the Madison Volunteers. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Unknown said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 7 months.

| Monday, July 31st, 2006: Super Swinger Snags SL2 Player of the Week
Kevin Hooper made quite a splash in the Sub League 2 this past week. The Summit Wrath second baseman drilled opposing pitchers for 11 hits in 19 at-bats to roll up a .579 batting average and the Sub League 2 Player of the Week Award.
He also contributed no home runs, 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored to his club's offensive attack.
Hooper is currently batting .311 with 4 home runs and 41 RBIs.

 | Wednesday, July 19th, 2006: DeCaster Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20
The Oelwein Monumentals lost to the Summit Wrath 3-0 today at Monumentals Ballpark, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Yurendell DeCaster's 20-game hitting streak.
"We felt if we could slow down DeCaster, we would win the game," the Wrath manager explained after the game. "They really seemed to feed off of his streak, so we really wanted to make sure they had nothing to feed off of."
So far this year DeCaster has 5 home runs and a .322 batting average.
