Wednesday, April 11th, 2007: Reed Blisters Raleigh
It was a big day with the bat for Jeremy Reed of the East Prairie Dogfish at Dogfish Stadium as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Raleigh 5-1.

To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today -- Bingo! -- 5 hits in 5 tries! But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."

At the end of the game Reed had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Dogfish had won.

The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.

J. Reed singled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Looking at his stats this year, Reed has compiled a .500 batting average, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 5 runs. He has played in 5 games and scored 6 runs.
