Sunday, April 1st, 2007: Volquez Records Shutout Against Revolution
Edinson Volquez of the Mesa Storks shut down the Norfolk Revolution 7-0 on an excellent 4-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 6 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks.

After the game Volquez said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count."

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006: Pineiro Shuts out Mesa
Joel Pineiro of the Chesapeake Windstorm spun his magic on the Mesa Storks today. He blanked them 13-0 on 5 hits, registering 12 strikeouts and no walks.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Pineiro said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the Chesapeake skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone."

Friday, May 19th, 2006: Volquez Whitewashes Akron
Relying on pinpoint control and a good array of pitches, Edinson Volquez of the Mesa Storks held the Akron Guerillas scoreless today. He scattered 4 hits over 9 innings and fanned 7 on his way to the 3-0 victory.
