Wednesday, April 18th, 2007: Ouellet Bangs out 5 Base Hits
Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Blue Hens Ballpark when Thomas Ouellet of Mexico scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Honolulu Whammers.

He was down and a little subdued with mixed feelings in the postgame interview. "It was a good day for me, but not a good day for the Blue Hens. The bottom line in baseball is to win. We didn't do it today," he told the press after the game.

He walloped 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his career day performance, but it was the Whammers, who won the ballgame 5-3.

However, the catcher of the Blue Hens did have this to say: "My swing was really, really there today. I made some good, solid contact and when that happens... good things happen. Sure, 5-6 and losing is better than going 0-5 and losing. I'll take 2-4 and a win and be overjoyed. I ain't greedy."

T. Ouellet singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and struck out in the 12th.

Ouellet is presently batting .299 with 1 home run, 8 runs scored and 11 RBIs. His OBP is .351.
