 | Tuesday, April 10th, 2007: Rogers Batters Oelwein for 5 Hits During a player's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Eddie Rogers went 5 for 5 against the Oelwein Monumentals at Honolulu Grounds and the Whammers picked up a 7-3 victory. He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted second baseman was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room. "He was patient up there today," the Honolulu skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. Rogers has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes." E. Rogers singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Thus far in 2007 Rogers has hit .415 with no home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 8 runs. |
